Athens Welcome Center Phone: (706) 353-1820 Address: 280 E. Dougherty Street Athens, Ga,	Description: Located at 280 E. Dougherty Street, the Athens Welcome Center is open from 10a.m.-6p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Classic City Tours depart at 2p.m. daily. The Welcome Center features information on attractions, accommodations, restaurants and shopping, brochures, maps and a gift shop.

Description: New residents must obtain a Georgia driver's license within 30 days of establishing residency. Drivers with a valid out-of-state license do not have to take a driving or written test, but must take an eye exam. First-time drivers must also take driving and written tests. A four-year license for driving a passenger car is $15; a learner's permit is $10. Hours are 9a.m.-4:30p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.
