July Small Business Breakfast Club

On July 21, the Chamber hosted it’s July session for the Small Business Breakfast club. The session was led by Dr. Nita Matthews-Morgan and Josh Matthews-Morgan, whose training company Learn Your Brain shows entrepreneurs, business owners and high performers how to apply the most recent findings in brain science, positive psychology, and peak performance studies. Athens Workforce Housing Study

Recently the Athens Clarke County Department of Housing and Community Development initiated a housing study to analyze our housing market as it relates to housing preferences for current and future job holders and job seekers. The study will identify deficiencies within our housing inventory and develop strategies for addressing those deficiencies. The Athens Area Chamber of Commerce has been a part of the panel that discussed important areas of concern for the survey. LEAD Athens Class of 2016 Kicks Off

The 2015-2016 LEAD Athens session is about to begin, starting with a retreat July 17-19 in the North Georgia Mountains slimming tablets that work. With 30 members in this year’s class, LEAD Athens, hosted by the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce and founded in 1982, is designed to develop effective leaders committed to building a vibrant community. Teambuilding, problem solving and decision-making are part of the program, which also covers a range of community-based curricula, including economic development, health and human services, education and local and state government. June After Hours

The Chamber recently conducted its June session of its Business After Hours event hosted by Georgia Square Mall and Macy’s on June 18th. This month’s session was held in the old Gap location with food provided by Buffalo’s Cafe. The event offered our members a one-of-a-kind networking experience and displayed a great turnout of 65 members many of which took home door prizes courtesy of the generous hosts.
